The Story of Laura and Edward | A Wedding in Richmond, North Yorkshire | 19.10.19

I always love hearing about how couples first met! Sometimes they knew of each for years, often Tinder was involved, and then every so often it was a case where a slight change of plan would’ve meant they would never have even met.

That was story with how Laura and Edward came to be!

Edward runs a farm over here in the UK, near Richmond, and Laura runs a farm over in America. It was while she was on a trip to the UK that they crossed paths due to an impromptu trip to Ed’s farm…

Whilst we were walking through Edward’s farm he stopped and told me that me where we were stood was the exact spot that he first met Laura. We had a bit of a laugh by recreating that moment (photos below!).

Their wedding day began at Edward’s family home, which is on his farm near Richmond. As tradition goes they were apart from each other the night before the wedding, but once they were both prepped and ready for the ceremony they wanted to have a ‘first-look’. This was a lovely little moment and meant that we could capture some chilled out portraits before the ceremony too (this was requested from Laura and Edward so that they could both enjoy the rest of the day with their friends and family whilst I documented the story of the day).

Most of their family had come to the family home before the ceremony to jump on the classic red double decker bus that they had booked to take everyone to the church. Even Laura and Edward jumped on this rather than having a seperate wedding car, which I worked really nicely, as it meant they could spend even more time hanging out with their friends and family!

After the lovely church ceremony it was time to head off to The Black Bull Inn, Moulton, for the evening reception.
